About Course

The Dermatology and Wound Care module provides an in-depth understanding of skin anatomy, common dermatological conditions, wound healing processes, and the clinical management of skin and wound-related issues. This module equips pharmacy students with the knowledge and skills to recognise, manage, and educate patients on conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, skin infections, and chronic wounds.

With a focus on UK-specific guidelines, such as NICE recommendations for eczema and wound care, the module also emphasises evidence-based approaches to topical and systemic treatments. Students will gain knowledge in assessing skin conditions, selecting appropriate topical preparations, and managing chronic wounds using advanced dressing techniques and antimicrobial stewardship principles.
